Contact RentReady

We read every message — but please read this first so your note reaches the right people.

Before you write

RentReady is an independent directory. We are not HUD, a Public Housing Agency, or any property's management agent. We cannot:

  • Add you to a waiting list or check your application status.
  • Issue or transfer a Housing Choice Voucher.
  • Override a denial or appeal a property's decision.
  • Tell you whether a specific list is currently open in real time — call the management contact on the property page.

If you need help with an active application, contact the property's management office directly. For broader help — disability accommodations, fair-housing complaints, eviction defense — contact your nearest HUD Field Office, your state's legal aid program, or call 2-1-1.

What we welcome

  • Corrections. If a phone number is dead, an address is wrong, or a building has changed names — please tell us. Include the property page URL.
  • Suggestions. Topics we should cover, links we should add, ways to make pages clearer.
  • Success stories. If RentReady helped you find a home, we'd love to hear about it (anonymized stories may appear on the site).
  • Press inquiries from journalists, researchers, and policy organizations.
  • Property managers who want to update or correct a listing.

How to reach us

Send email to hello [at] rentready.example with a clear subject line:

  • "Correction" — for property data fixes (include the URL).
  • "Suggestion" — for site or content ideas.
  • "Press" — for media inquiries; please include your outlet and a deadline.
  • "Property update" — for management agents; include the HUD property ID.

We typically reply within 5 business days. Corrections to property listings are batched and applied in our next data refresh.

Fair-housing complaints

If you believe a property has discriminated against you on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability, you can file a complaint with HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at hud.gov/program_offices/fair_housing_equal_opp, call 1-800-669-9777, or contact the National Fair Housing Alliance.
